You aren't actually making BCs, by awarding the BCs to yourself for the best answer on your OWN question.  Highlighting the answer takes the BCs from your own account. Than when you give yourself the best answer you only get half of them back.  Not only that you are wasting the BCs that you earned by answering other people's questions. You are also showing other players that their answers don't mean a thing to you.

For Example if you Highlight with 1000 BCs..  You will get 500 BCs.

Highlighting with 1000 bonus chips will : -Highlight my question for 4 hours 0 min
-Earn me 1000 Reputation
-Earn the best answer an additional
500 Bonus and 500 Reputation

 

If you want to lose BCs that's your personal choice.
