Dead mans hand is two pair consisting of black aces and black eights. These along with an unknown hole card were the cards Wild Bill Hickok was said to have been holding when he was murdered. The story goes he was shot in the back of the head by Jack McCall on August 2, 1876 in Nuttal & Mann's saloon at Deadwood, Dakota Territory.
